Now back to your regularly scheduled program 😉

We’ve been progressing nicely up the chakras and this time we talk about the Solar Plexus ~ Manipura.

“Imagine your third chakra as a fireplace, and the fire itself as your excitement, power, or potential. In order to have a good fire, you need fuel, air, and space. What fuels your fire? Does it have room to breathe? Where does your fire get crowded or snuffed out?”

~ Anodea Judith

🔥Manipura represents the fire within us. I like to think of it as my “ancient power center”…that phrase actually came to me in a dream.

When your body is grounded and your emotions are flowing, your body begins to generate energy and helps you build strength and develop your will. Perhaps that's why it’s called “Will Power”…

➡️ This energy, directed by Manipura, propels you down your life path. This power is essential to navigating the more difficult parts of your life’s journey.

✔️ Power is the ability to take on tasks and follow through with plans and make what you want happen.

✨This is the chakra of manifestation! We need to keep in mind, as we create intentions of what we want to bring into our lives, it doesn’t happen with intention alone, we need to take action. Manipura converts metabolic energy into action.

💪🏼 Personal power relies on the strength of your will. Will is created through integration of intention in our consciousness and filters down through the chakras in the form of energy generated by the body's metabolism. If intention and energy are not aligned, the will is weakened and is, metaphorically, steamed off between water and fire or stuck in the mud between water and earth. A healthy Solar Plexus chakra is the director of energy. Where would you like your energy directed towards?

⚖️ An example of imbalance between intention and will is either having a good intention without the will to follow through or a lot of energy without an intention. Keep tabs on which life circumstances enhance your energy and which ones suppress it, try to avoid the latter. Then form a clear purpose for your will and strengthen it through dedicated and consistent practice.

⛹️ Perhaps you start a movement regimen, it doesn’t have to be an epic gym workout, just something you know you can commit to and maintain at your own pace. I like Yoga, you may like walking, jogging or swimming laps.

Here is some info on Manipura.

Manipura is:

  • The 3rd one up of the lower 3 chakras associated with the physical body
  • Located just above the navel and below the sternum
  • The color yellow
  • Associated with the element of Fire
  • Is shown having 10petals (the expression of their vibratory frequency)
  • Associated with the seed sound RAM (the A sounds like “uh” in Sanskrit like when you say yog’uh’

The chakras are associated with different body parts and organs and sometimes share these parts with other chakras. Manipura is associated with:

  • Middle spine
  • Abdomen
  • Stomach
  • Small intestines
  • Liver
  • Gallbladder
  • Spleen
  • Pancreas
  • Bile
  • Metabolism
  • Sight

This chakra corresponds to your:

  • Desire & power
  • Personal authority
  • Inner self control
  • Purpose
  • Motion
  • Gut instinct
  • Efficiency

Here are a few ways that an imbalanced (excessive and deficient) Solar Plexus chakra presents in both physical and emotional symptoms:

  • Chronic or acute indigestion
  • Anorexia or bulimia
  • Liver or adrenal dysfunction
  • Fatigue
  • Diabetes
  • Hepatitis
  • Pancreatitis
  • Intestinal problems
  • Gastric ulcers
  • Arthritis
  • Fear
  • Intimidation
  • Low self-confidence/self-esteem
  • Sensitive to criticism

There are many ways to work with healing, balancing, and supporting the chakras. You can use these for Svadhisthana:

  • Color therapy ~ Yellow
  • Crystal therapy ~ Citrine
  • Affirmation ~ I can!
  • Movement ~ Yoga, dance, swimming, nature walks
  • Meditation ~ Nidra
  • Sound Therapy
  • Foods ~ Yellow colored and spicy foods, warm drinks. Avoid iced drinks.
  • Hydration
  • Touch ~ Hot rock massage
  • Chanting their seed sound “RAM”

Possible cause of a Manipura chakra energy blockage is repressed anger, lack of self control.

If any of this information is interesting to you or if you are recognizing that some of the symptoms are disrupting your ability to experience joy in your life, please feel free to schedule a complimentary first call with me and see if I am the right person for you, to help bring balance and flow to your chakras through the modalities that I offer.

Thank you for being here, thank you for being a loyal WEHS Blog reader!

Much gratitude and love to you and yours!
